In taking a leap of faith, I traded stability for a shot at something bigger. Through a lot of trial and error, consistency, and putting people first, I was able to shape my future and live life on my own terms.
My wife kept saying, “You should get into real estate.” And every time she brought it up, I shut it down. “I’m not about to be chasing people around, begging them to buy houses.” It just didn’t sound like me. I didn’t want to be a salesman.

But she kept pressing. “You’re great with people. Everyone loves you. You could crush it.” I still wasn’t convinced. We did agree, though, that I had hit a ceiling at my job.
I was managing five medical offices, and when I say managing, I mean doing everything. If someone didn’t show, I filled in. I’d be at the front desk, in the back with patients, helping with billing, covering for nurses—I did it all. I even told the doctor in my interview, “I don’t do blood,” and yet I found myself handing the doctor supplies as they worked on patients.

I had patients laughing in the waiting room and staff leaning on me to keep things together. The doctor trusted me to run the show, but at the end of the day, I was still overworked and underpaid.
Then COVID hit. My wife brought it up again: “Let’s just try it. You can do this.” And even though I still wasn’t thrilled about real estate, I knew I couldn’t keep living on fumes. For once, we had financial breathing room. Between stimulus checks and what we’d saved, we had a little cushion. So we bet on ourselves. I quit cold turkey.

And just as I expected, I hated it! The leads weren’t serious. I was driving all over San Antonio showing homes to people who were just curious. After three months, we’d burned through our savings. I told my wife, “This isn’t working. I’m done.”
Then, four and a half months in, I finally closed a deal. That first check changed everything. It wasn’t about the money—it was about seeing proof that maybe she was right. Maybe I could actually do this. And even if it took me a few months to get going, it was still the biggest check I’d ever received.

From there, I focused on learning and shifting how I saw the industry. I struggled at first because I thought I had to act like a salesman—always closing, always pushing. But that wasn’t me. Once I let that go and just focused on connecting with people, everything changed. I listened, figured out what mattered to them, and helped them make smart decisions. That’s when the trust came, and that’s when the business started to work for me.

Eventually, I left the team I started on and developed The Rodriguez Real Estate Group so I could create a business my family could be part of. My wife runs the admin side—handling paperwork, organizing files, and following up with clients. My daughter Aiyana saw me build this from nothing, and now she’s a REALTOR® with her own clients. My sons, Corey and Cameron, are still young, but they’re paying attention. This business is already opening doors for all of us.
My goal now is to build a trusted reputation in real estate and redefine how people view REALTORS®. This business is really about relationships and making an impact one person, one family at a time. That’s the legacy I want my family to build on. The only limits are the ones we set for ourselves.

Outside of work, sports are a huge passion of mine, from watching my sons to cheering on the Spurs and riding the emotional rollercoaster that comes with being a lifelong Cowboys fan. We also love going on vacations and weekend getaways.
When you work with me, you’re getting more than someone who can unlock doors and write offers. I’ve experienced the extremes of the market—bidding wars, sky-high interest rates, low inventory, and everything in between. I understand how to navigate any market and find the opportunities, spot red flags early, and ultimately help you be successful no matter what the market’s doing.
Whether you’re buying or selling, I’ll walk you through every step, make sure you understand your options, and give you honest feedback and guidance. I protect your time, your money, and your peace of mind. I’m not here to “close deals.” I’m here to guide you through one of the biggest decisions of your life, with care, integrity, and a commitment to protecting your best interests.
And I don’t disappear after closing. I stay in touch, connect you with resources, and remain in your corner long after the keys are handed over. People work with me because they know I show up, I follow through, and I genuinely care.
Sincerely,
